I received several reports from users running Vista and XPlane v9, describing that either loading of the plugin would cause XPlane to crash, or that XPlane would crash once pushback would start. I can't reproduce this bugs here, and thus can't pinpoint the origin of the trouble. However if you're in such situation you can try the following: 1) Try to delete any ".DS_store" files that would reside in your 'Ressources/plugin' folder. 2) In XPushBack preferences, disable the "Written ground crew message" box.

Dear pilots, here is an update of XPushBack which brings compatibility with X-Plane v860 and fixes the following bugs:
- Transparency of trucks is now correctly handled on Intel-based Mac.
- Closing the Prefs panel could sometimes lead to crash XPlane. Fixed.
- XPushBack runs again on MacOS 10.3
- GPU no longer empties the battery of aircrafts.

New Features
- XPushBack runs on Windows, Mac and Linux systems. In addition to Windows and the Mac equiped with G5/G4 chips, XPushBack will now run on the new Mac equipped with Intel chips. Thanks to the help of Pierluigi, XPushBack now runs on Linux too!
- We have refined the truck and plane movement to increase realism.- Even if this is not apparent, tons of code have been internally rewritten for a more rational usage & maintenance.
Bugs fixes
- The "PushBack terminated" message is now played only once at the end of a pushback.
- No more trucks and GPU floating above or under the ground.
- The truck should no longer 'misses' the plane gear and not stop
- The truck should now always stops when moving away from the plane

You can now download XPushBack v1.11 which is compatible with X-Plane v8 and X-Plane v7.63.
This version is mainly a maintenance release adressing the following points:
- Compatible with XP8 .
- GPU is now correctly positioned in front of the plane, independantly of which gear is used for push back.
- fixed issue reported by some users not using joystick that rudder stayed rotated after turn is completed

I overhauled the archiving of XPushBack; You can now choose the mode of compression you want to use. There should be no more problem of download.

I just return from vacations and realised that many users have experienced troubles to download and install the new version of XPushBackv1.1
I apologise to those users. I'm currently trying to figure out want can be the origin of the problem (obviously some Mac/PC incompatibilities when uncompressing the archive).
I hope to be able to fix the problem ASAP.

We are delighted to announce the first major upgrade of XPushBack is now available for Mac and PC.
New Features
- Choose your truck: This has been a long awaited feature. Now you can choose the kind of truck you want ! XPB can now handle an (almost) unlimited number of trucks. Pick up the one you want from the list, and request push back ! Grégory Sainz has made an INCREDIBLE job to provide with absolutely faboulous and 100% realistic trucks 3D models. And this is not all, you can create YOUR OWN trucks and customize them ! You have total freedom (see below)!
3 new incredibles trucks are included:
- a Nissan light truck with a pole for general aviation, bizjet and other short-leged planes
- a massive and powerful GoldHofer for Heavies
- A military-like tractor perfectly adapted to Fighters.
Soon more trucks will be available.
- GPU (Ground Power Unit): As in reality, you can now request ground crew to hook up your aircraft to a GPU to provide power. XPushBack GPU will refill the batteries of any aircraft, and if you use a XPushBack enhanced aircraft such as the ultra-realistic B737-800 of B. Stratmann you will get the most achieved simulation of an aircraft systems available for X-Plane: a real dialog happens between XPushBack GPU and the B737-800 to reproduce at 100% what's happening in reality !!
- To get along with these new features, Grégory Sainz our 3D artist has created an incredible introduction to 3D modelling for XPushBack. This document also features tutorials on how to create your own trucks. Everything you need to know to hack XPushBack is in this document. Check it here.
- We also have updated the user manual to reflect all this.
Bugs fixes & minor improvements
- The XpushBack menu has moved to the PlugIns menu
- No more absence of aural and written message if resolution is not at 1024*768
- The push back manover is stopped if the brake is set
- A new menu item to cancel a PushBack manover.
- Push Back possible even if the plane has a very short gear.
- No more interference of XPushBack with X-Plane's ATC systems.
- More robust truck positioning: no more problems of truck "missing" the gear and wandering around after completing pushback.
We have been working hard to make XPushBack more realistic. We thank the users whose feedback has been very useful.

The problem reported by some users to install XPushBack from the Zipped archive is solved. A new archive is available.
So if you failed to install it, you can give it another shot !

Some users have reported me they experienced troubles to correctly install XPushBack. Due to some Mac/PC incompatibilites, weird files appeared in the XPushBack folder upon dezipping.

Soon I will change the way XPushBack is distributed to go around this trouble.

Thanks to David Hossack from the X-Plane FreeWare team, you can now download an additional texture for the truck.
To install: It's easy, replace the truck.bmp and truckLIT.bmp files (in the Ressources/plugin/XPushBack) by the one you just downloaded. But don't forget to make a backup copy of the original ones.

XPushBack is a X-Plane PlugIn which emulates the little truck used to manoeuver the planes in airport. XPushBack brings the truck to the X-plane world and allows you to pushback your plane from its parking location to the taxiing area. It also helps you to manoeuvre the plane easily at the airport. This plugIn will add much more realism to your flights !
This product has been developed for the last 6 months and benefited from the feedback of our beta-testers. Check out its numerous cool features.

XPlane 7.41 is now available. XPushBack beta test is almost terminated. We addressed all the feedback sent by our beta-tester.
We could release XPushBack v1.0 now, we would like to wait a little bit to offer you the most beautiful truck possible. Sergio Santagada (THE artist behind ALL XPlane graphics) is currently overhauling the textures of the truck. Trust me, the result will be astonishing!
So please be patient, XPushBack is coming !

XPushBack beta testing is going well. We adressed most of the points raised by our testers. Our current plans are to release XPushBack v1.0 shortly after X-Plane 740 goes final.
